Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This tool processes subtitle files entirely in memory.

No file storage: Uploaded subtitle files are never written to disk. They are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the translation is returned.

Translation: Subtitle text is sent to a third-party AI provider (Groq, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, or Anthropic Claude, depending on configuration) for translation. No personal account data is attached.

No signup required: We don't require an account and don't store personal information such as your name or email.

Anonymous device fingerprint (opt-in): To prevent abuse of the free tier (e.g. repeatedly clearing cookies to bypass the daily limit), we ask for your consent — via a banner shown on your first visit — to compute an anonymous device identifier in your browser. This uses one open-source library (ThumbmarkJS, MIT license, hosted on our own servers — no third-party CDN or external tracking service is contacted) combined with a few basic browser characteristics (screen size, timezone, etc.). To recognize a returning visitor who opens a different browser on the same device, we also compare a small set of raw hardware/OS-level values (screen resolution, CPU core count, timezone, general platform) across sessions, but only ever treat this as a match when it is also corroborated by your current IP address or network provider seen again within the past few hours — a device-signal resemblance alone, or an old/stale IP or network match, is never enough to link two visits. If you decline, the tool still works; your usage is then limited using your cookie and IP address only. This identifier is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to track you across other websites — it exists solely to enforce fair use of the free tier on this site.
